  • How much do you have to weigh to zipline?

    Minimum - You need to be over 75lbs and be able to reach the cable while sitting in your harness attached to the lines. Special arrangements can be made for children to zip in tandem along with one of our guides (price for tandem is a full regular price).

    Maximum - Our harness system allows for a maximum 42” waste. Weight is not a restriction.

    What should I wear or bring to zipline?

    Closed-toe shoes are best! If you wear closed-toe sandals, they need to have heel straps so they do not fall off while speeding.

    Longer shorts, leggings or pants are recommended.

    Wear sunscreen.

    Wear bug spray (we are in the jungle, there are mosquitos)

    Remove any dangling jewelry and rings before arriving.

    If you have long hair, have it in a low ponytail or braided.

    Do we need to book ahead or can we just show up?

    It’s always best to reserve your tour spot before you come but if it’s all last minute, or you just saw our sign on the road, pop in. You can even call from the road to check for space and tell us you are on your way.

    Do we zipline in the rain?

    Ziplining is Fun in the rain. “We go rain or shine”, the only time the weather might prevent you from ziplining is during a lightning storm. If this occurs we can wait it out or reschedule your tour.

    What time is good to zipline?

    Any time is great to zipline! Please be aware that you need to check-in at our park 30 minutes before your tour time. You will need five to ten minutes at the Park Entrance and after check-in with our team we will gear up before heading into the trees.

    What time should we leave our hotel to go ziplining?

    Coming from Hopkins area you should depart about an hour before your scheduled tour time. This allows for a 30-minute drive and 30 minutes to check in use facilities and gear up.

    Coming from the Placencia area you should depart about 90 minutes before your scheduled tour time. This allows for a 1 hour drive and 30 minutes to check in use facilities and gear up.

    We also recommend that you allow some time during your visit to explore the park, and unexcavated ruins, walk to a waterfall and swim in a natural pool. And remember we have a place to buy lunch, a snack, and a cold drink or cold beer.

  • How much do you have to weigh to rappel?

    Weight requirements: Minimum weight to rappel the Bocawina Waterfalls is 80lbs. Those under 80lbs can make arrangements to Rappel in tandem with a guide.

    The minimum weight to rappel the Antelope Waterfall is 100 lbs.

    Antelope Rappel - You should be fit enough for a 1½ hour hike. The second half to the top of the climb has some steep, rugged and sometimes slippery terrain.

  • We are licensed, inspected, and insured. Our guides are trained, experienced, and licensed Your Safety is our top priority. Our steel cables have a minimum breaking strength or 5000 lbs and our zipline cable capacity is 26,000 lbs! We use high-quality made in the USA equipment.

    Construction:

    Throughout each phase of construction, training, operations, equipment selection, maintenance, and program development we’ve implemented measures to ensure participant safety. Our triple connect safety system is designed to assure maximum participant safety.

    Braking

    All of our zipline runs have dual cable and pulley systems. Self-braking is part of the challenge and part of the fun. Wearing a special brake glove you personally control how fast or slow you move on the line and our team will guide you into each platform. Secondary braking systems are set up on the long fast lines as an added safety precaution.

    Guide Training

    Each and every canopy guide is certified and undergoes a rigorous training course, and must pass field exams before leading participants on tours.

    Canopy and rappel guides are required to participate in continuing education to hone their safety, interpretation, and guiding skills.

    All guides are certified in First Aid and CPR.

    Every day, our trained staff thoroughly inspects all the ziplines, platforms, trails, and equipment of each course.

    Once a month we conduct a full day thorough inspection of the entire park.

    Once a year an accredited ACCT inspector conducts a comprehensive inspection of the Bocawina Zipline course.

In compliance with this program, we have implemented required hygiene and health safety measures to ensure the wellbeing of our valued guests and employees, keeping you all safe and protected from Covid-19.

  • We are open 24/7/365 and will zipline Rain or Shine.

    We have a 72 hour cancellation policy. When we book your tour we reserve your equipment, your place on a tour, we schedule your guides and other support staff. When people do not show up or cancel last minute we may have turned others away, may not be able to fill your spot and we still incur staffing expenses.

    If you need to reschedule your tour we are happy to help. Changes are subject to availability and should be requested 72 or more hours before your scheduled tour.

    Any change or cancellation up to 72 hours prior to your tour start time can be made at no charge and is fully refundable

    Bocawina Eco Tours and Adventures reserves the right to cancel or reschedule tours due to inclement weather, foreseeable hazards, or events beyond our control. In these events, we will do our best to re-book your tour or provide you with a refund.
